Principal's Message

Hello Buckeye Community. I'm Sarah Rivera, and I'm excited to serve Buckeye Primary School as the principal.  Education has been a part of my life for almost 20 years now. I started my career as a paraprofessional, working closely with students and gaining valuable experience in the classroom. I found my community of educators in Special Education.  I graduated from Notre Dame College for my undergrad and pursued my Master's degree at Ashland University.

I spent a decade teaching Special Education, which was incredibly rewarding as I have a deep passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs. For the past 6 years, I've been in administration, where I've had the opportunity to influence policies and practices to benefit both students and educators.

One of my greatest passions in education is early literacy. I firmly believe in creating strong foundations for our students because these skills are fundamental to their future success.

Outside of work, I prioritize spending time with my family and friends. A balanced approach to life is important to me, and personal relationships and self-care play a significant role in achieving that balance.
