Next week, Buckeye Elementary will be taking part in Start With Hello Week. Start With Hello Week teaches students the skills they need to reach out and Help in just 3 simple steps: See Someone Alone, Reach Out and Help, and Start With Hello. Last year over 12,000 schools from across the United States participated in an effort to spread awareness of social isolation. Please encourage your child to participate in our efforts as we work together to spread the word that We Care about all of our students.
Monday, September 13th- Green out day! Students and Staff wear green to show support and honor lives affected by Sandy Hook and other acts of violence . Students will be watching a “Hello” video to show how the power of just one simple word can change someone's day.
Tuesday, September 14th - Hey Day! Teachers and staff will be in the hallways, waving HELLO and greeting all students as they enter the building.
Wednesday, September 15th - Be a “Lifesaver” Day! No one eats alone! Encourage students to sit or play with students who are alone.
Thursday, September 16th - “Start With Hello” At school today, students will be tracing their hands on green paper and then writing or drawing ways they can reach out and help others. These will be displayed on our bulletin board in the main hallway with the slogan, “We Can Start with Hello”
Friday, September 17th - Let’s show our unity by wearing Buckeye gear today. Let’s be “Buckeye Strong”. Together we can make a difference.
