What is a Facilities Master Plan?
The Facilities Master Plan, approved by the Board of Education in November 2022, entails constructing, furnishing, and equipping a shared 7-12 building with related campus improvements such as new traffic patterns, bus loops, green space and upgraded athletic facilities.
How was the Facilities Master Plan formed?
The Facilities Master Plan was formed through extensive research, partnership with the state and community engagement. Buckeye Local Schools worked with Fanning Howey, an integrated architecture, interiors and engineering firm specializing in the design of learning environments, to lead us through a community engagement process to gain insight from our key stakeholders. The first step was creating a
Facilities Core Committee that provided leadership throughout the process. This committee was made up of community members, school employees and Board of Education members. A Facilities Advisory Committee, consisting of a larger cross-section of our community to represent our three townships, was also created. The Facilities Advisory Committee participated in 9 meetings to collect information, connect
with the community, develop options and present the final facilities master plan recommendation to the Board of Education. Additionally, the district hosted two community meetings that were open to all.
