Have you considered starting at a community college?

More local high school students start at LCCC than any other college or university. They get quality education close to home, may pursue an associate degree and enter the work force or transfer to a 4-year program at another university.

More Women Than Men Plan to Attend College

As reflected in the gender breakdown of test-takers. In the class of 2005, women outnumbered men taking the ACT by nearly 145,500; 56% of test takers were women, while 44% were men. Men earned an average composite score of 21.1, compared with a composite score of 20.9 for women. Men earned higher scores on ACT’s Math and Science Tests, while women scored higher in Reading and English.

The Tri-C Advantage

Did you know that 50% of undergraduate students in the U.S. are enrolled in community colleges? Many of them enroll to get started on four-year degree. Transferring credits from a community college to a four-year institution makes sense. The annual cost of tuition and fees at Tri-C is $2,301. (The average cost at a four-year public institution is $7,508). Another advantage of attending Tri-C first is that you can establish a record of success in college classes, and then apply to a four- year school.
