Adjusting to the High School environment can be difficult the first year.  As a result we have developed our Freshmen Mentor program to assist these students.  Junior and Senior students help Freshmen or other new student get comfortable at the High School by offering caring support throughout the school year. Special events include a Freshmen Welcome in May of their 8th grade.  Then a Freshmen Orientation in August before school starts.  Throughout the school year Freshmen Mentors will send holiday greeting cards and provide a Freshmen Breakfast to stay in touch.  Selected Mentors will also assist in our 9th grade Buckeye Opportunity Academy where they will tutor and teach students various academic and life skills. Applications and training are offered in April.
