Information Specific to Buckeye High School in the event of an Emergency

Due to the uncertainty of the next few weeks or months, the high school staff has met and reviewed the building emergency plans.

These Emergency plans are always available for your review.

If there is a raised level of Homeland Security from orange to red, Mr. Bailey, the Superintendent, will make the best decision about the safety of Buckeye students and staff.  The nature of the emergency will determine if the students are sent home or kept at school.

Just so you know, our students have been dismissed early several times this year during inclement weather, and the dismissal has been completed in a smooth and safe manner. This year we have also had to evacuate to the junior high, guided by our emergency plan procedures.

If we are to Shelter-In-Place or Lockdown, our staff will insure the safety and stability of our students.  As this may be a very tense time, our staff will provide support and care to all our students in small groupings and in different areas to encourage a feeling of safety.

Therefore, if you are not able to reach your high school students prior to an emergency Shelter-In-Place or Lockdown, know they are cared for and are safe within our building.  During such time phones and roads may be inoperable.  Please update your Emergency Information Form that was completed in the fall if there are changes.  Information must be accurate.  Only authorized persons listed on the form may pick up children.  There will be NO exceptions.  Students will be released ONLY to persons listed on their Emergency Forms.  Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.
