Since last Spring's chocolate covered pretzel twist fundraiser was such a success, we have decided to do it again!! Students are eligible to participate unless they have outstanding fees due from previous fundraisers. ALL ELIGIBLE STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A BOX OF PRETZEL TWISTS TO SELL UNLESS WE RECEIVE THIS OPT-OUT FORM BY FEBRUARY 25TH. The opt-out form is also being sent home with students on Tuesday, February 19th. You may also opt out by calling the school office at 330-722-8257 ext. 4137. Pretzel boxes will be coming home with students on Friday, March 1st.
Buckeye Primary School will be participating in a district-wide collection of 16 ounce plastic jars of peanut butter which will be donated to help feed those in the Buckeye community. The classroom that collects the most peanut butter will receive a pizza party courtesy of Mrs. Kochanek. (If a student has a peanut allergy, the collection box for that classroom will be moved to the office.)
Students who will be five years of age by August 1, 2019 are eligible to attend kindergarten in the 2019-2020 school year.
Kindergarten screening will be offered at the Buckeye Primary School on April 23rd, April 25th and April 30th. ALL parents are encouraged to sign their child up for a screening session. You may call the Primary Office on or after March 4th at 330-722-8257 ext. 4137 to schedule an appointment.
Registration is only required for those students who are not enrolled in the Buckeye Preschool Program. To register your child for the 2019-2020 kindergarten program, please click here to begin the online registration process. After you complete the online application, you will be prompted to set up an appointment with our Registrar. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. Instead, we ask that you bring all necessary registration documents with you to your screening appointment. Please click on the "kindergarten information" link in the column to the right to see what documents are needed for registration, as well as additional information about screening.
To celebrate Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) weeks, Buckeye Primary School will be having kindness spirit weeks where we will be covering different kindness themes as well as encouraging students and staff to wear certain attire each day of the week to remind us of the importance of being kind to others. Below is the RAK schedule for what attire to wear:
We will also be taking part in the "Pennies for Patients" campaign which supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This will also run from February 11th - February 22nd. Your child will be coming home with a collection box for their pennies on Monday, February 11th. Please see this letter from our Counselor, Mrs. Ludwig, for additional information about our "Pennies for Patients" campaign.
Our next late arrival day will be on Wednesday, March 13th. The start time for school and bus routes will be delayed by two hours on this day. The tardy bell for the Primary and Intermediate Buildings will ring at 10:45 am. Dismissal time will remain the same.
Your username is your student ID (this is the same number as your child’s lunch code, and it is available in Progress Book, and in PayForIt) & your password is your student's birthday (MM/DD/YYYY). Please make sure to include the backslashes.
School fees for grades Kindergarten through 3rd are $50.00. You may send this in with your child or pay online via "PayForIt.net". If you pay with a check, please make it payable to "Buckeye Primary School".
Lunch cost is $3.00; milk is $0.45. You can pay online through PayForIt.net also or send a check or cash in with your child.
Thanks to our Buckeye PTO, all Primary students will get the opportunity to go on a Spring Field Trip. The dates have not been set yet, but this is where each grade level will be going:

If you plan on picking your child up after school, please send a note in with your child so their teacher and office staff are aware. The car rider placard's purpose is to help our staff identify which car the child is to get into - we still need to receive communication from you that your child will be picked up. If you are picking your child up on a permanent basis, we will accept a note covering the entire school year or a specific time period.
Per Board policy, photos of students within the classroom are not to be taken without the permission of the teacher. In addition to this policy, we request that photos not be published on any social media website.
It's official!! All-day kindergarten has been approved for the 2018-2019 school year at no additional cost to families. We are excited about the educational benefit that this will provide for our students! If you have a child who will be 5 on or before August 1, 2018, they are eligible to attend.
If your student rides a bus to/from school, please click here for information regarding the upcoming school year. The following situations require a new transportation request form to be completed for your child: if your child is a kindergartener moving up to first grade; if you have moved to a new residence; or if you have made changes to your child's babysitter/daycare provider. The transportation request form must be completed by July 16, 2018 to guarantee transportation at the beginning of the school year.
