Students who will be five years of age on or before August 1, 2021 are eligible to attend kindergarten in the 2021-2022 school year. Registration is only required for those students who have not attended at the Little Bucks Preschool during the 2020-2021 school year.
Please read the Final Forms Guide before you begin the online registration process. After reading through the directions, you are ready to register your child. You can either register via the link in the guide or by clicking HERE.
Below are links with important information regarding kindergarten:
Buckeye Local School District, in collaberation with the Medina County Sheriff's Department, will be offering Safety Town this year. Due to social distancing requirements, participants in this program will be limited, therefore it is important to register early. Please be sure to check your schedule prior to registering your child because we will not be able to switch sessions after we have reached our maximum number of participants. We also will be limiting Safety Town participation to only students that reside in the Buckeye Local School District.
Please click HERE for additional information, session links and also a link for your child to be put on a waiting list.
All 2nd and 3rd grade students will be administered District and State testing in the Spring. Testing will occur on the following dates:
2nd grade Iowa Cogat testing
3rd grade OST (Ohio State Test)
See the 3rd grade VLA testing letter from Mrs. Kochanek for further instructions.

In order to ensure that Buckeye is following COVID Safety Protocols, we will have a new drop off and pick up procedure for car riders. You will still enter from Columbia Rd. (252), however you will make a right turn rather than a left and loop around the parking lot. Continue driving around the lot until you reach the stop sign. You will then take a left and come upon the first playground (Intermediate) and this is where you will drop off ONLY students who attend at the Intermediate School. You will continue driving around the building coming to the Primary School playground and this is where you will drop off ONLY students who attend at the Primary. You will then follow the loop and exit on Columbia Rd. Please note that you will need to wait in the entire line even if you are only dropping students off at one building. Your child needs to be wearing their mask when they exit the car.
***FOR THE SAFETY OF STUDENTS AND STAFF, DO NOT PASS OTHER CARS!
Please notify the Primary School office if you are in need of a car rider placard for your child. The purpose of the placard is to help our staff identify which car the child is to get into; however, we still need to receive communication from you that your child will be picked up. The best way to communicate with us regarding pick up is to email your child's teacher in addition to Mrs. Williamson at swilliamson(at)buckeyeschools.org and Mrs. Bartko at cbartko(at)buckeyeschools.org. All transportation arrangements must be communicated no later than 2:30 pm in order for us to ensure all arrangements can be put in place in a timely manner. If you plan to pick your child up for the entire year or certain days of the week on a permanent basis, you may send in one email that will cover this entire time period.
We thank you for your patience as we navigate together through our new car rider policy!
We can accept checks made payable to: Buckeye Primary School or you can pay via the PayforIt.net app. All unpaid fees must be paid in order to receive/access your child's 2nd quarter report card.
*If you paid for the 2019-2020 kindergarten field trip to the zoo, this payment of $7 has been credited to your account.
School lunches cost $3.00; cost for milk is $0.45.
If you interested in applying for free or reduced lunch, click here for additional information and the application for the 2020-2021 school year.

***In order for your child to use the computer/internet for the 2020-2021 school year and to receive a device to take home, we must receive your permission which you can find in the "agreements" section of Registration Gateway.

News of the coronavirus (COVID-19) is everywhere and many parents are wondering how to discuss this with their children. Hearing the information from you is an opportunity to help your child feel informed without frightening them. The below parent resources offer helpful information to give you guidelines for appropriate conversations with your child:
Parents/Guardians, please see this informational letter from our Counselors for those students that are currently receiving support services.
Colds, flu, fever and other contagious diseases are a serious issue in a school environment because they can spread so rapidly. Parents, please keep your child home if they have a fever or are showing symptoms of an illness. A child needs to be fever, diarrhea and vomit free for 24 hours before they can return to school. Also, if they have tested positive for strep, they need to be on antibiotics for a full 24 hours before they can return. Thank you for adhering to our policy.
Buckeye Local Schools will be offering before and/or after school care for students in grades Kindergarten through sixth grade here at the Elementary School. Please click here for program information. You can also visit "Right at School's" website to register and sign up to receive news and information about upcoming events.
The following situations require a new transportation request form to be completed for your child:
The transportation request form must be completed by July 1, 2020 to guarantee transportation at the beginning of the school year.
Per Board policy, photos of students within the classroom are not to be taken without the permission of the teacher. In addition to this policy, we request that photos not be published on any social media website.
Absences for students in the Primary Building can be reported by calling 330-722-8257 ext. 9203. If your child is sick or has an appointment, we ask that you call to report this by 9:30 AM.
