Superintendent's Message
As we enter the month of April, I am thrilled with the success of the 24/25 school year thus far and am confident the last part of the school year will be even more successful. The students of Buckeye have enjoyed a great school year. Achievement in the classroom as well as in the co-curricular and extra-curricular fields has been amazing. Our teachers and staff continue their dedicated work and service for our students, and the community continues to support the school district.
I receive many questions and comments from the community, students, and staff about the facilities of the school district. Most notably, when will we address junior high school? To that point, the proposal to build a new high school and move our junior high school students to an updated school that is the site of the current high school is on the ballot for the community on May 6, 2025. This $59,000,000,3.64 Mill bond request is the lowest request in the history of Buckeye. It will cost the homeowner $127 per $100,000 of the county appraised home value. Of note, the bond to fund Buckeye Elementary will be finalized in 2025, which will lower taxes for homeowners. We are hopeful to finally be able to move forward with improving our facilities. I greatly appreciate so many people that have worked on this plan with us. Please refer to the district website Facility Page for the most accurate and current information on this initiative. Please feel free to email me as well at jstanton@buckeyeschools.org.
Thank you for sending your children to the Buckeye Local Schools. We are truly here for them and you, and we work hard each day to make sure every student has a great school experience. Thank you for allowing me the honor and privilege of being your Superintendent. Go Bucks!
