January 2026

Happy New Year to all students, staff, parents, and community members of the Buckeye Local Schools. I hope 2026 brings joy, peace, safety and happiness to everyone, and a continued successful school year for all.

As we move through January and the winter months, I continue to urge caution and safety as our students and staff come to and from campus daily. We want everyone at school each school day. Sometimes to make that happen during the winter, a bit more time and patience is needed. Please give yourself and the students as much time as needed to insure safe arrival and dismissal from school. I also ask for patience and understanding as our bus drivers, maintenance personnel, and custodial staff also work through the cold and wintery conditions. They do a great job keeping everyone safe.

Thank you to all students, parents, and staff as we continue to work our way through changes with our bus routes and pick up/drop off for students. We strive to limit bus cancelations as we know how stressful and difficult these are for everyone. Thus, we continually evaluate and adjust our practice as we work with our daily available transportation staff to deliver safe and efficient school transportation. I promise our amazing bus drivers and transportation staff, along with district administration, is working to improve transportation every day. However, we need more drivers, and until we get them, it’s going to remain a challenge.

From a facility perspective, we continue to move forward with our plans to build a new Buckeye High School and to update our current high school so it can become the eventual home for grades 6-8. Look for exciting and continual updates as the rest of the school year takes place.
